I want to write about something pertaining to the Breedlove family and how their name contradicts the general perception the reader gets of them. I just dont know how to word it. Any ideas?
I think you could reword what you just posted. Something like, "In Toni Morrison's Bluest Eye, the Breedlove family contradicts their own name by their behavior throughout the story." That's the best suggestion I have.
i thought that the name breedlove was odd due to the fact that in like the first couple pages there is a line something like "pecola was having my father's baby" but when they said that i thought pecola was their sister and i was thinkin what the hell is this teacher making us read?
I think he's on to something though. If we consider "breed" and "love"--Pecola is carrying her father's breed, as we learn later in the book as well. And certainly, "love" seems to have been lost on this forsaken child. I think you have a good idea going here.
